Live Local Act

Florida’s Live Local Act is a statewide workforce housing strategy designed to increase affordable housing development. The Act, also known as SB 102, provided historic funding for workforce housing.

Governor Ron DeSantis approved the Act in March 2023, and as part of it, Florida Statutes Section 125.379, Disposition of County Property for Affordable Housing, was amended.

The amendment requires each county to prepare an inventory list of all real property within its jurisdiction to which the county or any dependent special district within its boundaries holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as affordable housing. The Board of County Commissioners must review the list every three years at a public hearing, may revise it at the end of the hearing, and adopt a resolution that includes the applicable inventory. That list must be publicly available on the county’s website to encourage potential development for affordable housing. You can find that list in the button at the top of the page.
